John McGregor

Advisory Board Member

John McGregor recently retired as chief information officer (CIO) and vice president of information technology (IT) at UKG, a role he assumed following the Kronos and Ultimate merger in April 2020. With more than 40 years of experience, McGregor was responsible for IT operations supporting employees across the globe. His forward-thinking and pragmatic approach to IT infrastructure and services kept the global IT organizations he led closely aligned with the businesses they served.

McGregor joined Kronos as CIO in 2008 where he made a significant impact on its strategic direction, leading the effort to build legacy Kronos Cloud, which is home to customers worldwide, and helping to drive the company’s successful transformation into a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company. As part of that evolution, he restructured his department as an IT-as-a-service organization—implementing a model for IT operations that was well ahead of the industry curve.

Previously, McGregor held several IT leadership positions with leading companies such as Sweetheart Cup Company and United Components. At both organizations, he led critical global enterprise resource planning implementations while transforming IT operations.
